FF Wheels - BIG QUESTION!!!!

by Mike Zamaroc » Tue, 17 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Which wheels will work in DOS? And please don't say the MS wheel. I've had
my share of their ***- that software program of theirs that is SUPPOSED to
make their joysticks work in DOS never seemed to do so, even if in a DOS
window while in Win95/98.

Thanks

FF Wheels - BIG QUESTION!!!!

Actually the MS Wheel works great for GP2. The only DOS game I've heard
any issues with is N2 - and that's only because Pappy tweaked the
joystick (wheel) input to "help" steering control. It works flawlessly
with every Windows game I use (GPL, Viper demo, TOCA).

I bought an MS wheel & originally took it back because it wouldn't work
with N2. Then when the TM Nascar Pro I exchanged it for started to
squeak & wobble after only a few days use, I realized I probably
wouldn't get back to N2 before N3 came out (GPL will do that to you). So
another trip back to EB (thank God for 10 returns) & I am again a happy
MS FF wheel owner & have retrieved the old T2 from the trash heap - just
in case I'm ever in the mood to bang some fenders :)

As far as personal experience with other DOS games - well - I suppose I
could dig out my copy of the original Test Drive...
