I remember all those years ago that I had a game/sim on my Amiga... ( i
think ) it was a Ferrari F1 game.. well on that if you crashed bad enough
you went to hospital and missed some races or worse still you did`nt make it
at all !!
I know its not good PR but why have games companys left out the real or real
facts.. if you crashed at 200mph in real life / sim life you may hurt
yourself...?

F1 cars are a lot safer these days than they were in Amiga days. For
all the crashes in F1 these days, very few of them cause a driver to
miss the next race.

I know moden cars are safer, and F1 has been very lucky for 10 years now,
but people still get hurt all around the world in all forms of motor sport
!!
It would be nice that if i rolled say my rally car it would say unable to
compete in next round due to broken wrist or bad back... maybe even the
dreaded flu....?
This would have tobe a real life option though !!

As is being sick in your helmet, wee`ing yourself !!

For the same reason that most games don't enforce the 107% rule.  People might
get pissed if they couldn't play a game they paid good money for...
That's one of the reasons I hate games that make you 'unlock' cars or tracks.
I paid for the game, dammit - give me everything I'm supposed to have...

Mike, I think reality hits close enough to home in everyday life without
having to simulate the hardships of a hospital stay.
I mean, lets not get "carried away" here... :-)
A sim can provide a lot of pleasure and enjoyment, as modern day programming
has showed us.
I don't need a surgical theatre in 3D to convince me of that.

I like that..you could bundle two sims in one.  "GP2.6" and "Orthopedic
Surgeon, the Simulation."  Maybe we could get Murray to do commentary while
the Good Doctor is cutting away your damaged goods.

I wasn't the one who suggested injury simulation.  I was commenting on
Eldred's dislike of having to 'unlock' certain cars.

I definitely don't care for simulating injury.  I'd never get to drive
more than once...  :)

I saw recently....can't remember where, they were saying that if/when a
driver has to take a leak, he does it in his suit and the heat in the
***pit dries it up by the end of the race.

Most of the time, they sweat so much, having to***is not an issue.
