Decided to get an Asus V7700 Deluxe and the stereoscopic glasses  make
driving sims much better. You actually feel like you are on the track
in a car. Only tried it in GP3, Nascar Heat and RC2000 so far, but I
like it. You can see the nose of your F1 car sticking way out in front
of you in GP3 instead of a 2D looking hump in front of you. In Nascar
Heat I really get the feeling like I'm in a car.  Downside is that
text looks ***y awful and some other games I have tried get screwed
up by it. Only seems to work for me when I set the monitor to use
120hz refresh when in the stereovision mode even though it is supposed
to work at 100hz too. Now to install GPL and see how it looks. This
beats FSAA for me and I don't miss my V5 just yet.

OK, I jumped the gun a bit on this post. These glasses  screw up too
many interface menus in games - including GP3. If the game is all 3D
then they are cool, otherwise they are too much of a hassle. Could be
a problem with some games altering the refresh rate too. Mechwarrior4
is amazing with them though once you get used to the doubling hud. :-)

Do you have a URL with some info on them?

TIA

Here's one. You can also do a Google search on the web for
"stereoscopic glasses" and you will get a bunch of related stuff.

120hz is needed since each glass is at 60hz.
You should really try Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, the 3d effect
in that game is fantastic, awfull sense of speed you get in 3d.
I couldn't get GPL working as good in 3d though.. still looking for
the correct 3d values, if anyone figured out some good 3d settings for
GPL I'd love to have them.

Those glasses must be using the interlaced method and not page
flipping (or whatever it's called). Asus VR 100 do both methods. Page
flipping looks much better. I found the best solution to getting the
best effects in any game. Requires some tinkering, but it works. Elsa
has generic Revelator drivers and they work perfectly with the Asus
glasses. So I install Nvidia reference drivers and then Elsa drivers
on top. Elsa driver install archives the Nvidia drivers and you get a
tray icon that allows you to switch between drivers with a reboot.
The Elsa drivers allow you to alter all the settings while actually in
a game so you can get the effect you desire without having to use
guesswork. When I want speed I use the Nvidia drivers, when I want to
use the glasses I use the Elsa drivers. Sweet setup. I run all games
using stereovision at 800x600 120hz refresh. Games are smooth and the
res is high enough because you don't noticed jaggies as much when
there are two imagres being overlayed on each other that are offset
form one another. This technology is still in it's infancy and it does
have it's downsides (*** the eyes if you use them for too long at
once) but it is a worthwhile technology to develop further for sure.

P.S. Asus glasses are large. No games crash on me with the Elsa
drivers because I can turn it off by pressing the numpad - key so only
turn it on in the 3D part of the game. Only games these drivers don't
work in is BoB and I have noticed in GP3 that the other cars wheels
keep disappearing when I have stereovision on. Played F12K with them
today and it was incredible. Elsa Revelator's come in a wireless
version.

which causes 2D bitmap text to double too much. Read my post in this
thread about using Elsa Generic Revelator drivers. With these drivers
you can pause the game and tinker with the settings until you get the
look that is good for you. I don't have Porsche: Unleashed, but I
bought Superbike 2001 today and it is amazing in stereovision.
Actually, it's amazing looking even without stereovision. :-) I'll
download the demo of Porsche again and see how it looks. The most
stunning I've seen in stereovision so far is World War II Fighters by
Jane's. Closest I'll ever come to feeling like I'm in a P-51.

P.S. GPL worked well with Elsa drivers. Very well, actually. Just
don't turn on the stereovision until you are in the 3D part of the
game or it will***up the text in the menus.

How would these glasses work if you have to wear glasses (I do)--or would
they work at all?

According to the manual you can wear glasses underneath the Asus
glasses, but you must have really tiny glasses then..
