On the website (www.v8challenge.com) the release date info says:

"EA SPORTS V8 Challenge will be ready February 2002! Stay tuned for more
exact details"

Anyone heard anymore about a specific date, as the website hasnt been
updated for over a month now?

Thanks

Matt

No. Is this sim going to be a worldwide release? STCC2 was published by EA
and developed by the same crew but was only sold in Europe so am wondering
if this game is for AUS only maybe. Nah, that would be foolish of them.

Latest was that they're having problems with the licencing of one
driver (Skaife) if I recall, that signed a deal with Codemasters
that essentially halted the release. Someone closer to the powers
that be passed on this information and also suggested the rep had
the gold release in his briefcase.

They're suggesting they should have this problem metted out by the
20th March. Personally, they should just release it with a driver
named Mike Scarf, put out an editor and give me the damn sim! ;P

Cheers,
Rod.

Does it matter where they release it?  If you have a credit card, a
mailing address, and web access or a phone, you should be able to order
from some Australian software place and have it delivered to you in the
jungles of Borneo if you like, right?  Heck, I ordered my copy of GPL
from Canada (dragon.ca), of all places :), and it found its way to me
(in the US).

BTW, I'd like to take this opportunity to say "eh" to all my Canadian
friends out there.  How you doing guys?  ;-)

Hiya Marc. We're doing fine eh? All because of 2 little numbers: Canada 5,
USA 2 :))

I second Marc's opinion. I got Rally Champ 2000 and Mercedes Benz Truck
Racing from www.interactcd.com. The first wasn't released in Canada (as
Mobil 1 Rally Champ) until much later, and MBTR never was as far as I know.
Borders don't mean much when you really want a game <g>

as far as I know.

I've ordered from overseas and the US before. Too many times has some
courier company charged me extra for paying the GST at cusoms on my behalf,
then there are the times customs has had the gall to charge me an extra
$5.00 for inspecting my package and charging GST.***that crap. I've made
it a persoanl policy not to order products online outside of Canada anymore.

Yeah, from BEHIND!

hee hee hee

p.s. The Pro race is March 9. I don't run Lites, remember? They won't let me
run Lotus in that division and we've already established that there are no
other cars in GPL...

That's an Olympics reference, I assume, right?  I didn't watch the
Olympics at all this year (but I know they happened, and I think that
oughta count!).  But I'll take your word for it.  :)

Well, people were talking as if the non-release of some game in their
particular country meant that it was forever inaccessible to them.
My point is just that it's not-- it'll just cost you another $15-20.
If you really care, you can have it.

No, I simply asked if it would be a world wide distribution or not. I didn't
ask from which country can I ship it from. No one has answered my original
question though so I will just wait and see.

Well, I might not care. I had someone bring me STCC2 over from the UK and it
wasn't as good as I was hoping for. If V8 Challenge (same developers as
STCC2) is available locally then I will probably buy it just to see what
it's like.

I'm far from being an official source, but I had read that it was an
Australian and New Zealand release only. Hopefully we'll see soon
enough.

Cheers,
Rod.

OK thx. Shipping from Aus to Canada is *very* expensive so doubt I will get
it if that is the case.
