EA Sports V8 challenge

I was in an EB store here in Aust and they had a sign up advertising
this game based on Aussie V8's. The best I could get out of them was
that will be released in Sept. I had a look at EA's site and they have
nothing about it.

Anyone know anything about this game and what engine it is using.
Hopefully They're not repackaging of that dog of a game,*** Johnsons
V8 challenge and pretending it's something new.

In March 2001 Digital Illusions announced that a racing game developed by
them would be launched by Electronic Arts Australia. The game is developed
especially for the Australian market and features local racing leagues and
car models. All details were still confidential as of May 25th.

Hope that helps,

I heard it is based on the same engine used for STCC2.

Look under products then Project Australia on the left.

Excellent!

STCC2 didn't make it here to Australia but it would be exceptional
if they were to use its engine for V8 supercars, especially if they
model Bathurst!

Would also be excellent if it contained decent multiplayer, not
having to endure large pings and lots of packetloss...

Thanks for the link! Hopefully it's not canned!

Cheers,
Rod.

Thats good news. I've played the demo of STCC2 and enjoyed it.

Good news for you, it won't be released here. :-)
