Hi.  I'm curious as to what sort of lap times people have gotten.

My best sofar is 1:16.280 on a verrrry carrreful lap in the Lotus.
That's with all help turned off and a joystick.

1 little tip.  If you're having a hard time, try driving the
Anglo-American.  The Lotus is awfully tricky.

Check out the Grand Prix Legends page at the APEX http://gpl.gamestats.com
They have an extensive fastlap board, broken down into the different car
classes (F1, F2, F3).

Not sure what the fastest time is currently, but I know it is at least a
1:06.** in the F1, so it looks like you have a lot of practicing to do to
keep up.

Here's a tip.. download some of the replays, and compare them to yours. See
where one driver gains time on you, and try to take his lines around the
course. Guaranteed to improve your lap times!!

As several others have written before me; check out the times at The Apex.

You might also want to check out my site, called The Paddock, for some hints
and tips as to where you could improve your laptime. See my signature for

Sounds like good diplomacy to me.  Make the Brits think they are British
and the Yanks think they're American.

My best so far is in the Anglo-American Racer and absolutely pushing
the car around the track I've got a 1'13.65 but as soon as I've posted
it, twice the demo has reset the computer back to win '95.  The best
consistent laps (that is without spinning are around 1'15.5 - 1'17.

Finally!  Someone with an ordinary time who's not afraid to post it!
The rest of you are a bunch of cowards.  :)

I've since done 1:12.08 in the Lotus, but I don't think I could top your
time in the Eagle.

My best so far is a very poor 1:09:95 using the GP Lotus (What else?)

I think the fastest time posted on the internet so far is around
1:06:5?

I am consistently in the 1:10's & 1:11's most of the time though.
I seemed to make gradual progress as time passed with GPL, (my first
full lap without crashing was 1:40) but after getting sub 1:10  a while
back, I have since made no further progress at all?

Keep practising.....

I was at 1:12 for the longest time; then I took a look at George 's
replay and noticed that he was braking a lot later and a LOT harder
going into turn 4.  I also figured out that one needs to feed in a
little throttle after braking before turns 4, 6 and 8, otherwise the
back-end comes right around.  With these changes I immediately saw an
improvement to 1:10, with consistent 1:11's and 1:12's.  Nothing to
brag about, but I thought the overnight 2 second improvement was worth
mentioning.  Now I just have to break into the single digits.
