WWW-page.
And yes, I'm preparing to take part in the competition as soon as I've figured
some things out!
Yesterday evening I downloaded some programs like GPA.EXE / GPEDITOR.EXE /
GPLAPTIM.COM-GPLAPW.EXE/PERFF-2.EXE...
I also updated to version 1.05 of my F1GP-program.
Most of the stuff is pretty obvious, but I don't seem to have a program that
generates *.prf -files and also PERFF-.EXE asks for the location of
SHOWPERF.EXE, which I don't seem to have on my HD. Anyone have an idea how to
get them?
Now something else:ever since I bought it for my Amiga some 4 years ago, I've
been racing F1GP, and I also installed it on my PC. When races became to easy I
started to make the most out of the game by almost(?) meticulously :-)
collecting my best QUA-times, which I tabled in an EXCELL-worksheet: a top
twenty for every circuit. (yes I know:HOW FAR CAN YOU GO IN THOSE THINGS!!)
I 'm interested in comparing these times with other peoples times.
"So why don't you visit the LFRS 'hall of fame' ?"
Because I don't think it's useful to compare my times with those: I made the
decision when I started this to use the default setup, and also these times were
realised on an early, not updated, version of the game. As I've noticed yesterday
evening, there definitely IS a difference in handling/behaviour of the car
between an early and an updated (1.05)version.
I will have to change my setups when competing in the online-series,and because
I have the updated game now I will have to stop my personal laptime-challenge
completely. :-( (one and a half years of collecting just comes to an
end...how sad!!)
I'll make a last print of it and then,....
But before I do this I would like to know if at least ONE person on earth has
some laptimes that can be compared to mine:
Here are the rules I always applied when challenging my own times:
- all times set during QUA-sessions on ACE level (no driving help)
- keyboard controls
- DEFAULT car setup (with QUA-tires of course)
- it's allowed to take the steering wheel of more than one car in a QUA-session
(so I didn't always use a McLaren or a Williams(not that it makes a
difference))
- slipstreaming allowed (though I didn't really calculate things to get as much
profit from it as possible)
- NO shortcuts(not even 'accidentally':foot of the pedal if it happens!)
Hope someone else has times to compare/is interested.
I'll start rightaway challenging the hall of fame, so prepare to loose ground!
;-)
