F1-2000 Racing every Wednesday 11:45pm Eastern

Hi Everyone,

The ICQ Active List has been down for the last month, bummer.

I'm holding an informal series every Wednesday that runs the same tracks
as the professionals.  The start time may vary because I host the
F1-2000 race after my Nascar3 race.  We usually race for 30-45 minutes.

We have 3-4 cable drivers showing up but a few more would be nice :-)

If you want to race, meet me on ICQ #647521 at 11:45pm Eastern and I can
give you the IP address.  We will be racing at Europe-Nurburgring.  The
schedule starts with a 3 lap warmup then a 12 lap race.  Another race
may follow depending on the enthusiasm.  Setting are 4x fuel wear, 2x
tire wear.  I recommend using Invulerability in case of warp incidents,
but don't force your opponents off the road.

I don't know if Europe is accurate or not, but man that's a fun track!
:-)

Jason.

I take it F1 2000 works well over Internet?

Thanks

Well at least it's better than SCGT ;-)    The best play is found on
cable and ADSL of course, but 56k at least works (not perfect but works)
with F1-2000.  56k people sometimes complain of submarining and
helicoptering.  The submarining does happen on cable with lower
data-rates 4 or 5.  With all cable drivers, I use a data-rate of 10 and
that seems to work well.

I've race guys from the Netherlands on cable and the connection was
great with 3-4 drivers in the race.  We were pretty close in speed so
the 2 of us were nose to tail for the whole race.  Passing is tough :-)

If we get 8 drivers, I would assume everyone would be at different
speeds anyway so a pack of 3 cars would be typical.  So far, 3 is the
average number drivers to show up.

Jason.
