I defy anyone to try the Formula Fords at Oulton Park and not be impressed.

It firstly LOOKS real...so lifelike.

Secondly it drives wonderfully... :-)

On our pc1 with all details on full it looks 100% realistic.

On our pc2 which has details on 2/3rds it looks 99% realistic...incredible

Enjoy it lads

If anyone is interested there is also an Xbox TRD2 demo on the cover disk
for the current Official Xbox Magazine.  The demo has Laguna Seca and
supports both single player and multiplayer on Xbox Live.

Yeah, I agree, I will buy the game for the formula fords alone, it's great
fun.
After playing online tonight I would say this definately needs mirrors
though. (promised in a patch by codies)
And there were the usual idiots who thought driving the wrong way was fun

Did they fix the split axis deal from long ago?

By chance have you got your controller setup ok?  I can't get it to
recognize my Momo wheel.  Also is there a***pit view?  I honestly don't
have ANY faith that codemasters has ANY clue about sims.  I hope I'm wrong
cause it does look pretty.

They did in the singleplayer demo. Classes available there where fairly
convincing. Think F1 2001 for overall looks/feel.

It recognised my Momo fine.

Of sorts, no steering wheel, arms/hands or working gauges but there is a
first person viewpoint. Hit "C" to change the camera, I think.

They've managed to make a fairly inoffensive one for a change, IMO.

I agree.  The entire CMR series is shit, and PRD1 was, uh, ok on the
xbox?

I'm not sold on PRD2, probably not getting it until we see if the
mirror patch ends up being vaporware, but it is a vast improvement
over their other titles.  The controls still suck ass - why can't
every sim just have a simple menu where you assign controls, select
driving aids, and choose a linearity between 0 and 100 for the wheel.
It's so simple, and it works flawlessly.

It's not ***, but it's fun.  Once they add mirrors it's basically
LFS with real cars/tracks, which isn't bad.

The netcode seems solid, altho 12 cars is a serious limitation.  Also
the collision detection seems kinda iffy.

How were the track loading times?  How many tracks in the demo?

That's one thing that is backwards with say F1C -- to change
options you must leave the track, make the change, and reload
the track.  And F1C doesn't load tracks quickly at all...

jess curious...
