Custom cars for modem play?

by SandMa » Fri, 25 Aug 1995 04:00:00

Hey gang,

I'm new to Papyrus Nascar and just got ***ed to racing
my buddy via modem. Cool!
The problem is I customized my car paint and now we can't
get it to run, so I restored my cars94.dat file.
If I want to run the Dupont car and he wants to run Goodwrench (I
have it in cars95) how do we do this to make it work? I'm thinking
maybe I need to import dupont for car94 and goodwrench for car50 on
my end and he could do it vice-versa on his end. Since I always call
him that makes me car #94, right?
Will this work? We usually race one on one or maybe with five or six
other cars. He wants to see me as the Dupont and I wanna see him as
Goodwrench. Can somebody please help cure my ignorance? Can it even
be done or do we have to stick with the boring default cars?

Please post on this group or email me...    Thanx.

Custom cars for modem play?

It is easier than you think.  You can use the same exact car set on both
ends of the modem race.  Just like you said, you import dupont for car94
and goodwrench for car50 on your end, except your buddy needs to the same
exact thing on the other end.  Since you are dialing, your car is the
car95 and the other human car is car50.  Since your buddy is answering,
he drives the car50, and he sees you driving the car94.

I might have this a little mixed up, but the point is that you can simply
share your car set with your modem opponent and you will each see the
correct graphics of each other and the computer controlled cars.

Best wishes!!!
