I have a couple of questions about outside utilities for ICR2:
1. Does the Rendition version (Screamin' 3D) need the patches?
2. Does the utilities such as 40 cars work with it?
3. Can I use the cars painted in the non-Rendition ready version with
the Rendition ready version?

Okay this one can be answered from the ICR2 FAQ available at

Q: What version of ICR2 comes bundled with some Rendition Video cards?
A: ICR2-3D is an "optimized" version of v1.02, but doesn't include a
patched paintkit. The patch for the paintkit can be found at:

I can only answer Question 3. The answer is yes you can use them. Rendition
Indy comes with 4bit and 8bit cars
Well, yes and no. Gerhard's current (unless he's updated it) fix for
the indycar.exe that allows you to select up to 40 cars doesn't work.
His other utility initially included with his 40 car set that sets the
# of opponents still works. You just have to leave the opponents at
39, instead of being able to switch around.

On startup, the screen reads v.1.02 so I reckon it's already "patched". Can
anyone else shed any light on this? BTW I've tried to patch it & it
does'nt work.
