F1 2000 Rain + Temp ???

by Quake » Fri, 21 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Hi.
Just tried a copy of F1 2000 to see if I would buy the game. Correct me if
I'm wrong, but are there no raning days in F1 2000?? And how about a
hot/cold day and tirewear? Same temp all over the world every day?

Sounds really realistic, almost as realistic as my Fiat 1200 with 6000 HP's.

I hope it is the copy that are missing the rain and temp. and that it is in
the "real" game. Correct?

Yep. But you'll need a Playstation to get it to work... ;)

Tirewear is very, very much in the game.

Rain is in the game. However, you have to manually hack the config file in
a text editor and restart the game each time you wish to switch back and
forth between wet and dry racing. You also have to download some rainy
weather graphics from a third party site- they might only work at the
Silverstone track. Basically, they released the game a little before they
had managed to finish it. Rain is in it to some degree but it is quite a
pain in the neck. I haven't had time to test if the wet driving model is
really complete or not.

I don't think that you can vary the temp.

...just create a new player with the rain hack.... if you want to switch to
rain, just switch player profiles (no restart required).

Dents.
