Have recently installed Soundblaster live card and can no longer calibrate
NascarPro thrustmaster sterring wheel with dual axis mode selected.  It
doesn't seem to detect the brake and never allows you to calibrate it.
Single axis mode works just fine.  Anybody else have any problems along this
line?

Yeah, had the same problem.  The SB Live puts the gameport under "Creative
Devices" or something along those lines in Device Manager, not under "Sound,
video and game controllers" where it usually is.  What I did was install a
standard Microsoft gameport, so I had two of them listed, one in each place.
Then reinstall the Thrustmaster software, then remove the MS gameport.  Things
worked after that.  Just so you know, I did all this with DirectX 7 installed.
Hope this helps.

I had the same problem trying to calibrate my TSW2mod with split-axis and PDPI.
I finally gave up and I'm running in single-axis mode.  I'd be interested in a
solution, too.

I have a SB Live and a ECCI wheel/pedal dual axis system, and I must enter it
as a "2 Axis, 4 button joystick" and have "Rudder Pedals" checked in the
properties box.

So the 'rudder pedals' are the brake axis?  No WONDER I couldn't get the damn
thing to work.  The documentation for my TSW just said basically plug in and
go...

I am curious about the ECCi wheel/pedal here, I have seen the pedals
and no doubt they must be excellent, the look convinced me already.
But the wheel is what I don't know much about. Do you get force
feedback in GPL or any other games? If not, then how does it work?
In which way for you is it better than, let's say the LWFF -my current
wheel.

Thanks.

Mauricio.

ECCI does not make a FF system.  I purchase it a few years ago,  before there
was any FF.  For a non FF wheel you couldn't find a higher quality product than
the ECCI, super smooth, built to last, and with a very high level of finish.
I would like to try a FF wheel but I'm waiting for a higher quality product
than what I see available now. I am impressed enough with the build quality of
ECCI products that I'm willing to wait a while for them to bring out a FF
system, I just wish they would get with the program.
Today, from what I hear on this newsgroup, a properly set up LWFF is the best
wheel for gpl,  but it also seems that gpl is the only software that has
implimented FF in a way that actually aids driving.

I see your point. Perhaps I'll wait as well until an ECCI FF system
comes into the market, in the mean time I am waiting for the makers of
the PDPI to release their implementation of USB on their new gamecard.
Thanks for info though.

Mauricio.
