TOCA: Support Force Feedback?

by Zonk » Fri, 05 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I just got my MS Force Feedback Stick today, and was thinking: let try a non
F-Feedback game and see how the Joystick reacts.

However, it seems that Force Feddback is present in the demo!

Yet i have seen nothing promting this on the web site...

Will the final release have Force Feedback support?

Yes, the full game does support force feedback. The car-to-wall
collisions and some of the more subtle forces have also been improved.

Well, i brought the game on Friday, and despite being a little annoyed about
the inflexability and the seemingly crazy AI, the game that i played most
certainely does not support Force Feedback.

Will support be added in future by a patch?

Confused,

Force feedback support IS present in the game. We used the DirectInput
API, so any joystick which supports this should work. What make of
stick do you have? We have had no problems with it in testing.

MS Sidewinder Force Feedback. I'm scratching my head. I Play TOCA, then go
back into MS Flight Sim, and no problems, I have normal forces. However, when
i play TOCA, i can't feel a thing. I must admit to being puzzled as hell.

As far as i can see, i am getting no force feedback from TOCA. Am i Alone in
this with a retail (non-demo) copy?

I had the demo version working with F Feedback on Thursday, the day before i
purchased.

Yep, codemasters UK release supports force feed back, its brill, though you
are going to need a fast machine, with a 3DFX or
a Power VR for good D3D usage.

Further to this, i am having some sort of Midi related problems with my F
Feedback Joystick. So i guess it most likely there, but till i work out why it
doesn't work....

Thanks,
