i'm hoping to purchace grand touring; i love touring car racing and
this seems to be the best one.  does grand touring support force
feedback?  i'm new to this ff stuff, but i get the impression that ff
support is part of directx6 (???).  is there an ff faq around so i can
stop looking stupid?  thanks.

If this is the same title I'm thinking of you may want to hold off.  It
might just sour you on GT car racing.  Bad sim, bad, bad.  It would take
more than FF to make me play it again.

whew!  that was a close call.  i found a full copy on the net today.
i downloaded it and played it.  it is as you say; bad bad bad.  among
other things, i couldn't get it to see my logitech formula force
pedals!!  gosh.  and it has a 1998 date on it; it is basically new!  i
i just learned about toca2 and will wait for that; march '99.  i tried
the demo and liked what i saw.  when it comes to gt sims, the pickings
are really slim.  thanks for the response.
