Nascar2 being used with Sound Blaster Live card - help

by Dave Thaye » Thu, 22 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

I havent seen any posts on this or missed them so here is my question.

Was wondering if anybody in the SIM community has gotten Nascar2 to work
with the SBlive sound card?  All other window based games work fine on
my one system except for Nascar2.  Even the new GPL works fine with the
new card.

I have the card installed on my second system, so I didnt destroy my
primary racing online system with the SB16 card.

The sound setup does not seem to autodetect the card or none of the
manual settings seem to work.  Looking at resource properties briefly
last night, I think I saw the interrupt set at 12. The addressing is
different also.

Maybe I have to wait for the Nascar99 to come out for it  to work with
Nascar 2 and SBlive card.

Thanks for any info on this,

I have problems too.. but it sort of works it you have the following (your
directories may vary) in your autoexec.bat file to enable sb 16 emulation
SET BLASTER=A220 I2 D3 H7 P330  T6
C:\CREATIVE\SBLIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COM

Run SBego.exe to test your emulation . it is in your sblive/dosdrv directory

Now when you run nascar2 setup select sb16 and put in 220 for the
address,dma=3, and irq =2

do not try test. it will likely freeze up.

You should get sound although it may freeze your system when you exit the
game.
