No it isn't! <argumentative grin>

Seriously though, it's clear everyone has their own opinions on this
subject. I for one cannot stand F1RS and think it is the biggest load-o-
shite ever, but that's just MHO. You like F1RS better and so be it, fine
by me!

However, GPL really does put this whole debate in context. It really is
a huge loss to you that you won't try it.

Perhaps. I have no ill will towards people who like the game,
I think that is great! I just really don't like late 60's early 70's
era F1. I did read a great book about it though. I forget the
name but it was about the formation of M.A.R.C.H. A very
good book. It was unfortunately highlighted by Jochen Rindt's
wreck during practice in which he died. He had such a lead in
the points that he still won...

I plan on getting the Logitech FF wheel this weekend. Maybe
when GPL gets FF I'll give it a go.

How could it be his loss? He doesn't like it! The best graphics and physics
model could not convince me to play a drag racing sim, even paying me by
the hour wouldn't do that.

OTOH, I'm a lucky guy, as I love both, '67 AND '99 F1... ;^)

I was going to say "And don't forget the unique multiplayer Game".  Up
to now,  GP2 is the ONLY game where you can have several people
playing on the one computer.   This is ideal to hold you own
championship ,  like we do,  between 6 players - thats 3 teams of 2
players.
This adds a whole new dimension to the game,  and I just wish some of
the other car racing sims would do the same.

Cheers.....Ken

Strictly speaking, not the only one - its predecessor F1GP had the same
feature. But I could never get it to work properly with Win 95 - not enough
conventional memory in DOS mode, no sound for some reason in Windows mode.
Besides, once you have GP2 then F1GP becomes laughable. The AI for a start
was incredibly inept - on Ace level I could start at the back of the grid at
Phoenix and take the lead by the first corner, I also lapped the field 8
times at Monaco once or twice. And I won every race of the full Ace 100%
season using the default car setup at every track. I expect everyone else
had the same experience - I've never seen much discussion of F1GP on usenet,
but then I've only been online for 2 years...

Heh, I remember that I wasn't really interested in 60's F1 racing but
when I tried GPL the first time, I became really interested! :)

Yes, both GrandPrix2.com and GP2.com each receive in excess of 2000 visitors
a day.

Don't know.  Probably not because when they opened the internet was not as
popular as it is now.
