Make sure it is device ID #1 (if using DirectX 5.0). Also you may want
to try deleting the calib.val and control.cfg files in the NASCAR2
directory. If this doesn't work, try getting Thrustmaster's ProPanel,
which may calibrate better than Win95's routine.

I kinda have the same problem. If I use NasRend the wheel is recognized ok.
But If I try Renddma then the gas pedal and brake go to a value of -1 and N2
doesn't see them.
(details...Diamond Stealth II and a P200mmx ) Currently N2 is patched to the
tptcc and is on my d drive. I originally installed and ran it under dos but the
situation above is from running Nasrend.bat or Renddma.bat from the win95 run
button in the start menu. any ideas?? btw running under win95 and having only
the walls set to auto, and 28 -30 for framerate settings, I have yet to see the
walls blink off...mucho improvement from my ol vlb system...r.i.p.

Did you try to calibrate it, then assign buttons to it?
