Problem with MSFF wheel.

by Desm » Thu, 26 Jul 2001 02:19:43

I can not assign the shift paddles in GPL.

I just purchased the wheel last week and it worked fine in GPL until
last night.
I can assign any other button to shift/up shift/down, and the paddles
are working in the "test" screen of the ver. 4.0 software. The paddles
also work in other games. I have deleted and recreated a GPL "Scheme"
and still no paddles. I also went so far as to delete my control.cfg
file in GPL just to start over.

Win 98se
Abit KA7 (latesest 4 in 1's)
DX 8.0
MSFF (USB)

I did notice that in the device manager there are 2 MSFF wheels
present under sound video and game cantrollers and a new keyboard
thing (i assume it is for the keyboard mapping thingy). I was not sure
about this so i removed one and all three went away. I reinstall the
wheel and it came back just as before with two wheel enries and the
virtual keyboard.

Thanks...

i have exactly the same problem !!!
But not only in GPL, but also in Rally 2000.
When i bought this 2 games, the left and right triggers
work fine in this 2 games, but since a few months, i can't
understand what happens, i can't assign gear up and gear down
to the triggers.
But all others buttons work fine and the 2 triggers work fine
in the Sidewinder controller settings.
