I like the CH regular pedals too... they're cheap and very precise, although
the geometry is totally different from a car so it takes some getting used
to, but it works well for aircraft sims as well. One of my coworkers took
some CH pedals, flipped them 180 degrees and bolted them to a wedge made of
plywood to make them top-hinged, and put an extra spring/squashball under
the brake--with it against the wall, it felt very solid and car-like, for
maybe ten bucks of parts and probably at most an hour of labor. (I think he
ended up also bolting on metal toe plates on the ends of the pedals.)
