<snip>

REMming out all of the Pxxx lines in the atlanta.txt file is overkill,
just change the one line that starts with PTICK to:

PTICK 0 0

The other 2 lines play a role in how the AI behave when pitting under
yellow and they seem to work okay once the last number in PTICK is set
to 0.

Gee Mike your right it was overkill but I  did not have the
time to edit and test all the options. I found the fix over a month
ago and wanted to share the fix with other racers.
I love the Sim and was bummed that Atlanta was a bogus win. I
guess getting on with my season to experience all the tracks was more
important than weeding out which parameter was causing the glitch.
I don't think your discovery or mine is the real problem
however, but at least you can win without feeling it was because the
AI pitted with no brain cells. Again thanks for taking the time to
weed out the line, but I can't see any problems even with all three
lines gone.

The three lines shouldn't have appeared in the Atlanta file. They are
available to tweak the AI pit-in heuristics, and in the bustle of the
last week, got added to Atlanta by accident. The fix is to remove (or
REM) them.

I am sorry, I didn't mean to sound as if I was "pissing on your parade".
That was not the intention.  I was under the false impression that these
lines may have been put into the text files for a reason.  A reason that
may affect the way the cars paced & spaced themselves while pitting
under the yellow.  It does seem to affect this.  However, "your buddy"
has since shed the light on why/how these line appeared in the .txt
files.  Of course, he wouldn't have posted this information if I hadn't
posted my falsely assumed deductions.

Again, it was not my intention to "steal your thunder".  BTW:  my
deductions came so late due to the fact that I too went on racing other
tracks.  It wasn't until I revisited Atalanta for the final race in my
championship run, that I decided to play with the file.

See ya on the track...

Mike and Jim,

I thank you both for your reply. My intent was to share my find
with others so that they could enjoy the track. As I mentioned I found
the fix by chance but did appreciate Mike taking it a bit further.

Thanks Guys, were all shooting for the same purpose.
And I know Jim has to be the bad guy on track policy, but I don't
agree with the policy. I think the're hurting themselves by not
letting the "TRACK" web sites do their thing as long as they don't put
out tracks that PAPY has or owns the rights to sell.
                                                      Just my view....
