In Allison's GPL Hardware FAQ a Hercules Thriller card is compared to two
Voodoo cards.

I have a Guillemot Voodoo1 card and I could be given a Voodoo2 card (don't
remember the maker).

Can I use them both simultaneously? If so, how !?

Nope. To use two 3D cards they have to be identical (make, model, and RAM)

You can only use two voodoo cards together if:

1) They're the same version (example: Both have to be Voodoo 2)
2) They both ahve to have the same amount of RAM (8/12 MB)
3) Both cards should be of the same make.

Voodoo 1 cards were never made to be run in SLI.
If you can get that Voodoo2, and then sell your V1 to get another V2,
it'll work.
I believe Guillemot's drivers allow you to use two different V2 cards in
SLI, just remember you'll only get the performance of two 8MB cards, if
one of them is an 8MB.

With later reference driver revisions it's possible to run dissimilar V2
cards in SLI. This assumes the cards in question are based on the reference
standard (the vast majority of V2 cards are), i.e., you still cannot SLI two
Obsidians.
