The newest Computer *** World has a preview of Papyrus' Nascar Racing
and i can hardly wait, however.....
I think IndyCar Racing has at least one major bug that needs to be
addressed. I can picture the programmers feverishly working on the expansion
discs for Nascar Racing already and i wonder if IndyCars' AI problems are
being forgotten about.
I have yet to finish even a lap on a roundtrack race without the problem
of the computer cars slowing down on the turns if the human controlled
driver is near. This is ruining the sim for me because it simulates nothing
in the real world of racing.
Papyrus has announced a save-game feature for Nascar but we were told
that it wouldn't be a "realistic" addition to IndyCar (the capability to run
a ten lapper in IndyCar is?)

Did it mention hardware requirements for the Nascar Racing?  I hope they
are same (or lower) as in IndyCar Racing.

Are these backmarkers?  I always thought they were giving me change to
pass;-)

Nascar Racing will come in hi-res and low-res formats. Low-res being
Indycar Racing style graphics and hi-res being unbelievable (from the screen
shots). Low-res will come on discs and hi-res on CD-ROM only.
    A fast 486 with a 2X CD-ROM will be required for hi-res.

Hmmm... I haven't had this problem.  I do know that on a re-start, everyone
slows going into the corner.  That happens in real racing too if the pack gets
too crowded.

Not "realistic" in that the way the ICR _program_ deals with Positions/
Performance/etc of oppoenents would not be easy to save.  I don't believe they
meant "realistic" in the sense of game-play realism.

Later...
Steve

This is hard braking when two computer cars get together in a turn. It
seems to happen a lot in the course of a race.

It seems like if it's workable for Nascar Racing it should be
programable for Indycar.

Wow... anyone know if they're expecting to upgrade ICR?  (Presumably)
My 486-66+2xCDROM+1024x768x8 is winging its way to me now and I can't WAIT!
