Well, had a good run, but DW just plainly outdrove the grubbat dodge and may
hats off to him (showing yall my bald head). Had a good race and only had 1
YELLOW for the whole race. I think some got caught up in a wreck and LTB hit
some air and got some damage. Anyway, lots of fun for me and look forward to
next week. My arm is tired from all that GREEN flag racing and two green
flag pit stops. Just plain awsome!!!

Thanks GRUB.   I never really thought I would catch you.   Your car just
seem to rocket for 50 laps.  All i could do was watch and follow and try and
save
some tires, as GAS was never an issue.

You killed me on the pitstop!  Took me to school...

It seemed your car just really slowed the last 15% of each session.

Its always great to race RASCAR.

I did ok, finished 6th, another top 10. Are we going to points next season?

I got caught up in the wreck, but didn't get much damage. I think I hit #98
when I was trying to avoid, sorry Larry. Yea, it was an awesome race, but my
arms sure are hurting. I think we had 155 laps of green.

Awesome job guys... excellent run.

As co-author of that one and only caution I'd like to take a minute to
explain.

As I was entering T3, I saw a car get turned up into the wall, so I
immediately lifted. As I did the car appeared to recover eventhough I'd seen
it hit the wall nose first and continue. Perhaps my disbelief caused me to
forget about my own car for a split sec and I got it sideways. As I went to
recover from that I either got bumped slightly or stalled the rear wing or
someone ducked inside taking my air with him or somesuch as it went
completely and I spun down to the inside. I might have been ok if it had
just continued off the track, but as the car hit the apron it changed
direction and went back up the track, allowing me to get clobbered.

Pitted and went back out, but I was a sitting duck, having lost some 20mph
off the top end. Anyhow, seeing as we're not able to dial in some mechanical
grip to compensate for the lack of rear downforce and it wasn't long before
I had a "moment". Anything I did had zero effect on the lazy spin the car
went into, then it suddenly snapped back and I ended up parked sideways
across the track. I had the F2 view enabled and it showed no one coming up
behind, so I just grabbed a gear and attempted to drive to the infield only
to see Steve Whitty flash past in front (think I got him slightly, sorry
Steve).

Anyhow... immediately afterwards I realised it could be interpreted I had to
retire due to the two spins rule, so I did in order not to fall foul of it.

Good to see you guys *did* have a good one!

Jan.

Correction, after looking at the replay, it was not the 98 I hit, it was the
7. Sorry Ginger, I swerved left trying to avoid and ran right into you. Man
you took a good tumble, hope there wasn't much damage.

Yep good race. Gotta admit I was shocked to see ya spin Jan. It never happens
:) My bad screwed up Larry's day. I saw him coming up and attempted to move up
but caught the wall and came right down in front of him. Great catch by
Larry...saw him hit the brakes and upshift...no contact but BS damage to his
car. Sorry man. A lot of give and take resulted in a lot of tired arms. First
time I've ever had my spotter say after a pit stop "sorry that lugnut just
wouldn't go on right I know you'll make it up on the track".  Guess he forgot
who his driver was.

<snip>

So there I was watching all this from a prime vantage point; more or less
right behind you.

I had taken the corner well (for me) and had just passed the point at which
I had come back *** the gas.  There it was in front of me, a car in a
soft lazy spin to the inside.  Luckily for me  it was heading off the track
and my lntended line would be clear by the time I got there.

Time passes.

Whoa!  What's all this then?   His car is backing back up the track!!

Time passes

Alway wondered what was going through Bobby Allison's mind as he was
airborne heading for the catch fence at Daytona.   ;o)

Elrikk

PS.  So like is anybody going to come and get my car off the top of this
fence ?  ;o)

No need to apologize Jan, my spotter said a car stopped on the track as I
came out of 4.  I spotted you and started going low, then you moved, so I
just went even lower.....to the infield.  I was off the pace anyway.  I got
through the disaster on the start/finish line on the yellow, then coming up
to turn 1, right near the end of the pits, Mark Seery came straight out
across the track and I t-boned him.  I had the wheels locked so didn't hit
too hard, then I got clouted from behind, have no idea from who, and don't
blame them.  End result, engine damage.  As with Jan, about 20mph off top
speed.  I could nearly flat foot turn 1!!
Anyway, a couple of laps after Jan left, my puter froze,(  I hope I didn't
take anyone with me) and and to reset.  My day over.
The practise races were fun though.

I'll have to wait and look at the replay to comment accurately as to what
happened to me. Everything happened really fast and I never saved it. As we
crossed the finish line, the cars right in front  me checked up extremely
rapidly - come on guys, retain your speed a little longer and slow more
gradually! I had to hit the brakes much harder than I would have liked in
order not to overtake. All would have been ok, but for the fact that one of
the guys in front spun, forcing me to have to throw the anchor out of the
trunk . I braked even harder and this resulted in a punt from behind,
sending me into the wall. I was a sitting duck and like Jan, I was able to
reverse off safely. On attempting to rejoin the track, I drove forward,
steering to the left. The car simply refused to turn at all and I went in a
straight line up towards the track. This was when I was hit for the second
time. If this was you Steve, I'm very sorry mate. The car simply did not
react the way I expected it to do so. There would have been adequate time
for me to get going if the car had turned.

Big shame about this mess once again. I ran with some damage the whole race
but was able to turn reasonable lap times and had a few good dices.
Unfortunately the car was eating tyres and wear was much higher for me than
in any practice races that I had run throughout the week. I think 8th was as
good a result as I could hope for today.

Great race folks!

Although I was suffering from a rather sore throat I simply could not
bring myself to park it and head for bed which would have been better
for me, but no, this race was too much fun to quit.

I really think TeamSpeak is a great addition to the racing experience,
and comments from Ed when to "stay high" were really welcome and gave me
a good idea what to do.

I don't think I could handle the TC stuff on a road course, but it
sure makes oval racing much more interesting.

Cheers,

uwe

Sorry if it sounded like I was blaming you Mark.  Far from it.  With all the
cars in every direction, it was just one of those things. I know you
wouldn't  pull back onto the track like that on purpose.   Hey, its just a
game.  I had fun until my puter froze. I think Mitch and I would've ended up
battling for position.  I came back in but was 12 laps down and decided not
to rejoin.

What a great race indeed!
I got some damage from the caution one first lap...  when the yellow came
out - I slowed down but, unfortunatly Don didn't - so he nudged me into a
spin just before the line... Just a reminder to everyone that we DO NOT race
back to the line; when the yellow flies - slow down! :-)

A little confusion during the caution, saw me pitting on the last
yellow-lap, so i was pretty much in last spot as the green flew.  Good thing
was that the Westen Auto crew had done great work during my stop and the car
didnt feel too bad.  (although I had "a moment" shortly after the
restart....)

The restart went great too even though we had some cars upfront with
powerloss - good work giving room guys! This is getting better all the time
IMO.

My only wish is that I'd pitted earlier the second time around...  I
streched the fuel for 66-67 laps both times - [ironcly enough] hoping for a
caution - but it never happend.
As an effect my laps times increased too much and I missed out on 4th.
place. - which I spend the majority of the race fighting with Jurjen for. In
the end I think he beat me to it by 5 seconds or so..   From what I could
see - there were several "battles" like this thruout the field -  Great fun!

A real tricky thing at Lowe's is how different the car feels on fresh tires.
My car was loose as hell in turn 2 on the first few laps after a stop -
probably a side-effect of having driven a understeering car for so long -
just previously.

Kudos to everyone for making such a great race!

(Oh... and Don:  Don't forget; when the yellow flies - slow down :-)
