Well after seeing those new 3D shots (www.alphaf1.com/gp3), it's clear that
all the cars are gonna be the same shape and have the same***pits.

I really thought that in 3-4 years, (Sir) Crammond would have at least added
individual car shapes and***pits to the game ( and I hate to point out
that F1RS and GPL both have these features, F1RS being 3 yrs old and GPL
over 18 mths old).

oh, and I hope those shadows are gonna be less blocky in the final release.

Other than those 3 points, it's looking good, especially those lighting and
smoke effects,

Too bad the game will be outdated when released again :( at least F1 2000
will be current which e***s me a lot more than waiting through endless
delays of a game which will be behind the times when it finally does see
daylight.

I'll definately get F1 2K as soon as its released and then maybe GP3 if the
EA game is not good as far as car driving model is concerned. I bought WC,
GP2 and I suppose I'll get GP3 more due to loyalty than anything else.

BTW, I had the chance to drive F1-2K for a few
minutes the other day.  Based on that quick
preview, I think people will be very happy with
it.  I haven't tried GP3, and so can't compare
them, but I'd say F1 2K will be the best modern
F1 sim to date.

So according to that sentence... GPL was outdated of 30years? It's
pointless.  Whatever year I do not care.  The cars were more fun to drive
that year.. why not take them instead of the 1999 season? We all know that
within months of it's release we'll be able to change any carsets like we
had back in Gp2.  Be sure that most of the file architecture will be the
same.

This is true and is one reason why I never really got more than a casual
interest in it, I cant idntify with 60s era F1 cars and drivers.

 It's

Maybe YOU dont but I sure do and I imagine there are a lot of others that
feel the same way.

The cars were more fun to drive

Who says so? How about an "IMO" here and there?

. why not take them instead of the 1999 season? We all know that

This really doesnt matter, F1 2K will have all the up to date cars and
tracks when its released, this makes it more attractive to me. FYI I also
stated that I'd probably buy GP3 when it is finally released, I just dont
want to wait til June or July or whenever it does finally see the light of
day.

F1 cars don't look so different to eachother so I don't really care. All
cars will handle the same and I don't really care about that either because
everybody would be racing the Mclaren otherwise. About those***pits, well
that's a pity. It would be nice to see the real***pits because there are a
lot of differences between the teams.
But hey, doesn't it look good! Compare it with screens from F12000 and F1
world grand prix. I'm sure it'll be the next F1 benchmark (ok wsc looks more
promising but it ain't a F1 sim and we all know Mr. Crammond) GP2 didn't
have the best graphics either when released but it has beaten everything for
gameplay.

Well... that's your problem ;-D

The majority of people in this newsgroup don't care about whatever year GP3
is modeled on, or don't care about how old any software actually is by
modeling the year.  What's the problem? Why is it wrong?

It was said numberous of times by Formula 1 drivers, because of the
additionnal groove and width of the car.

Good for you, most of us don't care.  Up to date means nothing.. it's does
not make anything better or worse.  The artist simply paint the cars,
tracks, adds, etc.. the way they were at a specific year.  That's all.
