nascar racing season 2002 slow performance

by Seth Partak » Fri, 27 Sep 2002 00:25:43

I have Athlon XP 1700+ 256 Mb PC2100 gigabyte 7vtxh motherboard Abit g4 4200
card.
I can get a 9500 on 3dmark 2001, but racing season 2002 will only get about
20 fps.  lowering display has very minimal effect. tried reinstalling game.
lasted NVIDIA drivers, them rolled back one by one down to previous drivers.
no help.  used to get 75 fps at 1024x768x32 all levels all the way up
I even closed all background programs
any help would be appreciated

OK, if you used to get 75fps that begs the obvious question, what have you changed on your pc since
then?  There is always a reason for the change in performance, pc's don't just magically slow down
all on their own.

Probably when you installed new drivers the vsync feature got re-enabled.
Plus you don't mention if you are using DirectX or Opengl.  Ogl is about, on
average, 10 fps faster than directx with Nvidia products.
