Nascar 2002 season internet play - how to get into a friends game

by falco » Tue, 30 Apr 2002 21:16:22

 Hello .
i have tried this game in both multiplayer mode, and server mode.

we both tried to link using our ip address, in the multiplayer mode.
i started a game and ticked my ip address, then started the gameand told my
friend the games ip address.
inwhich he always gets a message ( timed out )...
the he tried to set one up also, and then i get the same error message..

can someone please post a step by step ( fools proof ) way to connect 2
pc's over the internet.....

   thanks appreciate your help.

Why not just connect using the Sierra.com service provided with the game.
Put in a password so no one can join and you're set to go.

Then make one, it's free and only take a few minutes to setup.
Much easier than going the IP route for novice users.

well novice or not, it should still be easy to set up a game.
every other game will work just by doing normal setups for a multiplayer
race.

Do you have a cable or dsl connection?  perhaps the IP the game is
reporting is not the correct one.  run a program called winipcfg and see if
you have multiple IP's.  Also my ISP, even tho cable, no longer allows
static ip's .  My IP # number changes everytime I log on...sometimes, if I'm
not active on the net for a set amount of time, it will release the ip and I
have to 're-connect'  so I never know what my ip# is till I get into a
session.

Not being smart, but have you read the manual? I've connected many times to
other computers.
