NASCAR Racing 2002 is still being played regularly via Sierra dot com,
but the numbers are way lower than before NR2003 came out. I'd guess on
average now there are 30-40 people, tops. Everyone has transferred over
to NR2003, which has it's good points. That means the wreckers have gone
on, too. So you can find some damn good racing on the open servers.
My advice depends on what you're looking for. If you want the better
tire model and prettier graphics, then go with NR2003. If you just want
something to play now, then get NR2002 if you don't have much cash. Just
keep in mind that nearly everyone has transferred over to NR2003. So if
you're looking to race against more people, then you should lean that way.
Also, be sure to keep a eye out for good (aka cheap) deals on NR2003. :)
