Guillemot FF Racing wheels problems

Hi everyone,
I see some of you have 'hardware' problems with
their FF racing wheels from Guillemot.  Here its a whole other story :
everytime I run a game (be it GPL, N3, NL, TPTCC99) for a while, the
game just locks up or framerate drops to about 1 fps.  It never did that
before I installed the wheel... Any help?

When the crash occurs in GPL, I've got those programs in my ctrl+alt+del
window :
First the 'Papyrus Window' then when I close it and hit the keys again a
'gpl' one appears which I close too and then when I hit the keys a third
time there's 'Msgsrv32- No response' I close this one and the computer
locks up and I have to reboot it completely

My computer is an Aptiva with Windows 98. I've got an AMD K6 450Mhz
processor with 64 Megs of RAM and a Voodoo2 PCI 3d card.  I'm running
the latest driver found on the Guillemot webpage.

Any help would be greatly apreciated as this was a gift to my father and
it was a very big investment for our family

Try uninstalling the Guillemot drivers and wheel.  Reboot your computer
and install the wheel and drivers from scratch.

Sorry, this has already been done a couple of times!

I noticed somthing else this morning when I tried the game : when there are
other drivers around the car and the game slows down a little(i think its
normal) the framerate given by alt+f doesn't seem to be right, it says
something like 20fps while on-screen I must have a 4-5fps rate, slow enough
that the car doesn't sound right at times

Thanks anyway for your help!

Everything's fine now !

I called the tech at Guillemot and after going through a couple of menus, he
told me that my USB drivers were probably out of date.  I didn't wish to
mess with my drivers since they were supposed to be the 'correct' ones so I
just installed the wheel in my serial port and everything's fine.  I've seen
none of the glitches I talked about earlier since I've done that!

No let's try to do a couple of GPL laps without crashing !
