QUESTION ABOUT D3D PATCH

Make sure you have the [Int Profile Values] section before the
[Direct3D7] section in the CORE.INI.  Additionally note that if you
previously had the OpenGL patch installed you will already have an [Int
Profile Values] section to which you can simply add the 7 new D3D lines
(those being value3 through value9).

QUESTION ABOUT D3D PATCH

by Race15 » Tue, 27 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I use a Dell P-3 600 with Geforce 256, SB Live, 256 megs ram.  I installed the
patch and everything went as planned.  One of the few patch installs I have had
the pleasure of doing without ANY problems.  Fired up the sim and the
difference was astounding!!!  Monaco at the start, everything on, 31 fps
standing still, pinned to 36 as soon as the cars started moving.

Here is the question.  I hadn't installed the core.ini filed changes.  I
decided to changed the .ini file just to see what would happen.  The frame rate
dropped to 20 at the start of monaco.  I quickly changed the core.ini back to
what it was.  I am not complaining, as the D3D patch, as it is, is wonderful.
But what gives as far as what happened?  And should I try again?  What should I
change?  or should I just leave it alone? (if it ain't broke, don't fix it)

Thanks Mike
