Guys, don't know if anyone's mentioned this on here, but did you know that
Sox finished Rockingham, the UK Ascar track, for N2002?
You can get it from - http://www.racesimcentral.net/
A mirror at http://www.racesimcentral.net/
and it's really excellent.
Apologies if someone else posted this info...

Now, is someone working on Milwaukee? Always liked that place...

I love any track with some character which this one seems to have.  Now how
about some setups?

On a sidenote, if you haven't got Peoria yet, it is WELL worth it.  The AI
kicks the shit out of Papy's pitiful AI. They will actually slow down going
into a corner when they are behind you. AMAZING after driving offline with
the absurd Papyrus AI.  How does AI get worse from Nascar Papy edition to
edition released by this company.  Unbelievable.

Restrictor plates?   I thought it was just the fast setup was bad but I
tried setup after setup  Hell, using the coca cola setup the rev limiter
kicks in aroun 6200 and no matter what I do I can't get any faster than
about 150.  Very dissapointing.

I thought for a second in horror that I might have to reload or something
but my other tracks are fine, including add-on tracks.  Beats the hell outta
me.  <shrug>

It's no Nordschleife!!

Also, care to explain what you're talking about?  Track name perhaps?

You've probably got the ASCAR version.  ASCAR (UK stock car racing) uses
lower powered engines to save money.  There should be an unrestricted
version included in the same installer.

Clipped from the track readme:

******ROCKINGHAM MOTOR SPEEDWAY FOR NASCAR RACING 2002******
******By MotorsportSims.com******

This program will install TWO versions of the track on your hard drive. One
version will be to simulate ASCAR race cars, the other to simulate Winston
Cup race cars. The ASCAR series is an ASA based oval racing series, run in
the UK and Germany on Europes newest oval race tracks - Rockingham (in the
UK) and the Lausitzring (in Germany).

The two tracks will be called Rockingham-ASCAR and Rockingham-CUP.

The ASCAR version has a 7000rpm limit and has modified grip settings to
simulate the lighter cars (but with essentially the same tires).

Is that what Steve was puzzled about?  Interesting.  Seems like even
semi-intelligent readers could draw some conclusion based on what the
original thread was about.  UK rockingham.    Somehow Scott managed to
figure it out.

The link that I got the executable from, in the original post, has but one
installer with no options and it's for N2002.  Not a big deal, just odd.

I assure you, it beats the hell out of us too :)

I'd shrug, but I have no idea what I'm shrugging at!
