I use OE with read messages hidden, and it's a separate thread
here too.  I prefer not to scroll through a couple of thousand
read messages every time I check news...

Which is why I said to not "Eep3" the threads.  People who read c.s.i.p.g.*
will understand ;-)

My thoughts exactly.

"> Depends on your news reader, I see you use OE, in Netscape it's def NOT"

That is something I was unaware of.  I've always used OE, or now i use
outlook reader.  I didn't realize it was being viewed as seperate thread.
My bad fellas, whoever is left and reading this.  While I have been reading
newsgroups for years, I certainly don't know all the parameters nor have I
ever cared enough to spend the time to learn what a kill file was or the
different viewing functions of different readers.  It's just not that big a
part of my internet experience.  See it, read it, sometimes post it.
Obviously some folks here take this alot more seriously than I do.  I would
say to the other extreme but so be it.  It's your party and I am sure you
like it the way you want it, not always the way it is.  I couldn't figure
out how readers coudn't figure out what I was talking about.  Obviously I do
now.  Live and learn.  Anyways, sorry for this seemingly amazing
confusionfest.

Well, I should qualify my statement I guess, I sort messages by subject,
in which case your original post to this "new" thread was the first in a
new thread, if I configure my newsreader in another way, it does indeed
show up in the Rockingham thread, never noticed that before, as you say,
learn something new every day

I get messages sorted by "subject".....:-), and then by date/time,
instead of collaborating messages connected together, makes it easier to
find the messages from people who's messages I take the time to read

I usually start out by reading the first couple of messages in a thread,
if the subject looks interesting I keep reading, if not I scroll down to
see if any of the "regulars" are posting to it, if not, I mark thread
read and move to the next, if I see a message by say Steve Smith, I read
his message to see if the thread picked up at some point, if it did I go
back and read the whole thread, in which case it doesn't really matter
what way I sort it

If people quote the important bit from the message they reply to, this
is a pretty good way to sort it, and if they don't, there's always the
"references" links at the top which takes me straight to previous
message in the thread

Force of habit more than anything else I guess, the first time went
online, back in 95, the guy who helped me set up my computer used
Netscape and he used it this way, so it stuck I guess :-)

I downloaded the .exe from both motorsportsims and fastfoodracing.
This is the first add-on for N2K2 I've tried and I get and error 0
when running it.  I presume there's something extra I need for add-ons
that is common knowledge to all but me???
Any help here would be hot.

Cheers,
