Nvidia driver of choice for F12001?

So what is the general consensus on drivers versions for a Geforce 2 video
card in f12001? I have to do a complete reinstall of my system so I can go
with just about any one I need to as long as it dosen't cause problems with
any of my other titles. I'm seeing 12.40 and 12.90 being mentioned alot so
I'm thinking its down to them. I have not tried the 12.90 as I went straight
from 12.40 to the 21.81. Does any of the 21 series work at all? I did pick
up in some of my other games with the 21.81 over the 12.40 so I would rather
not lose there if I don't have too.

Thanks

I think everyone with Nvidia cards has to play in windowed mode to get
good frame rates. I've been usinng 12.90 for a long time and find them
the best for compatibility in all the games I own.

7.52 and I don't have to run in windowed mode. I tried some other drivers
last night and NON of them worked well except this one. I have a GeForce GTS
64 mb.

Don't suppose you have N4 or DTR do you?  I know somewhere right around the
7.52 range both of those titles got "broke". In N4 I think it was a problem
with the shadows, and DTR had too many problems to list.

I dunno what the general consensus is, but the 21.83 (latest official)
drivers work fine for me.

AMD 1.333, GF2 Ultra

With or without any of the "tricks" ?  window mode, fraps, etc.

Completely untrue!  Some people with nvidias need to run in a window.  I run

be smoother.
Seems to depend very much on the individual system.

The 21.83s worked really well for me on my Ultra without window mode, or
FRAPS (never made any difference at all that!). Only problem was no mirrors,
so I went back to 12.90s and everything is perfect.

21.83 seemed to be working well for me (GF2 GTS)  however, when I tried GPL
I was getting a corrupted screen (PC still running but fuzzy screen - not
locked up) each time the pit board appeared.  At least I assume that was the
cause of the crash.  I have therefore gone back to 12.60.  This provides the
best compromise for me.  DVD playback and compatible with powersave modes.

I did notice a fair increase in fps in N4 with the 21.83.

F1 2001 in a window BTW

Yeah, I don't get all this talk about FRAPS, windowed mode etc. F1 2001 runs
best for me in "full screen" mode with NO FRAPS.  FRAPS makes it a little
jerky.

I had mirrors, but the cars looked like skeletons in the mirrors. I agree,
12.90's all the way, baby.

It is funny how there is no single solution to the driver, mode and FRAPS
issues.  In fact, it seems that nearly everyone's system is behaving
differently with this game.

12.83 worked well on my system, but I noticed objects in the distance seemed
a bit blurry. I dropped back to 6.50.  Took a frame hit but still
reasonable.
