I think people have had success with 6.xx drivers.

Btw, ISI knows about this and it is confirmed to be associated with
12.xx to 21.xx drivers. It's supposed to be fixed in the upcoming
patch.

Same here.

Well, maybe it has to do with the res you run at, at 800x600 it was
fine in full screen, but at 1024x768 I had to use windowed mode to get
a good frame rate.

easier.
My point was that it is only SOME people, not ALL as you said in your post
that have the frame rate problem. Seems to depend very much on the
individual system.

I am using a GF2 Ultra as well Iain.  Would you mind telling me what cpu you
have?

I seem to have good luck as long as I use 12.xx series drivers, and stick
with 16-bit color.  The minute I go to 32-bit color (even in 800x600) the
game get choppy beyond belief.  For the first time last night I tried the
"4" anti-alias setting in 1024x768x16, and it looked wonderful.  I just wish
I could run it in 32-bit color satisfactorily.  You'd think this would be
possible using a GF2 Ultra and 1.4ghz T-Bird.  :-(

(This is also in WinXP for what it's worth)

The whole situation seems to be very weird.  I'm running the GF2 Ultra with
1.4 TBird as well, and also on XP!  I've got 512mb RAM. I have absolutley no

When I was on the 21.xx drivers I had jerkiness and missing mirrors, and the
whole thing was completely unplayable. Whenever I went back to the 12.90s,
everything was perfect!
It almost seems to be down to the individual. god knows how EA are going to
sort this one!

Holy cow, identical systems almost completely.  I tried again last night to
do 800x600-32bit color with the 21.88's and obviously had no luck, so it's
back to 12.90's for me.  I've been playing with some of the options in NVMax
to no avail as well.

Well, it's nice to know that it is possible, somehow, to do 32-bit color in
high res with the specs of my system, I'm just curious why I personally am
not able to.

Thanks for the info Iain.
