FF questions

I have been running the Momo for a few months now, and love it. Matter of
fact, my TSW2 sits idly by and hasn't seen my desktop since I purchased the
Momo.
This is my first FF wheel, and I am curious. I see folks stating they love
FF because of the better feel it gives them of the car, ie they can
seemingly feel when it is pushing or when the rear end starts to break
loose. Now maybe I am having this and not recognizing it, but I just don't
seem to be able to get the same feel for the car.
In F12002, the FF is very good - I can feel the bumps and so forth, but I
really don't feel over steer or under steer through the FF.
Same in N2002, I don't think the FF is quite as good as in F12002, about all
I feel is resistance when the car gets a little out of shape.

Are there setttings for fine tuning the wheel I am missing? I normally run
the Momo at about 110% in the game controller applet, with centering spring
at about 60% and dampening at about 20%. In the sims, I set it to 100% FF
( in F12002 I set it at -100%).

Again, I love the Momo - just wish I had more pedal throw - just want to
advance to the next level if there is one in my FF experience.

Thanks,

I was about to ask nearly the same question.   I will add what little I
know(hush Goy!)  For the Papy sims, the centering spring should be turned
off.  They deal with it's use in the ff code so turning it on overides that.
2nd, from past experience, especially with the LWFF,  many users found the
FF would mysteriously quit.   The cause/cure was lowering the FF effects to
under 100%.  I beleive the consensus was the FF motor would overheat and
stop working when using FF above 100%.
Now.  As to damping and such...I hope somebody had a good group of
settings..

Centering spring off in Papy sims? Ah ha, didn't know that, I will give that
a try, thanks.
I would like to hear a good explanation of the effects of latency,
dampening, and centering spring.

Here is an old but well written and helpful seminar on Force Feedback, with
an emphasis on the Logitech Wingman Formula Force, the essence of the new
MOMO wheel. Check it out.
