Just wandering what everyone thinks the best Formula 1 sim is for PC.
I've heard F1 Challenge is good, but being from EA I'm not sure what
to believe.

It is true. EA was just the publisher and Image Space Incorporated was
the developer. Same people who do rFactor now. ISI did the F1 series for
EA for a number of years and put out a new version just about every year
so F1 Challenge '99 - 02' is a pretty tweaked up racing sim. It's not
perfect but it is the best there is for a complete F1 game. rFactor has
some good F1 car series too, get rFactor and try the 1979 F1 mod. You
will need to download the correct tracks and use a utility that is
available to make the cars use only the tracks you want for a season.

F1 Challenge runs great on modern hardware, but you might have trouble
getting widescreen support to work. rFactor has some great F1 mods,
but the AI isn't too good so you'd have to find a good league in order
to run it online.

I don't run much f1-style cars in rF these days as i find them too
fast to experience real pleasure driving them. I usually fire up the
CTDP or MMG mods before an F1 event to get a feel for the track again,
but that's about it.
