Formula Logitech Pedal ReWIRiNG ???

by Jude » Mon, 25 Oct 1999 04:00:00

Hi !

I use a Formula Logitec NON Force wheel(the end plug is for a soundboard)
for N3, GPL etc.. Wheel is great but the pedals dont measure up.

I have the CH pedals(old) and would like to find out if there is a site that
can properly instruct me how to rewire the CHpedals to the Logitec wheel ?

Ive found one site that can give more travel to the Formula brake and
replace the spring that its in there. BUT its not just the same !!

Anybody out here done this ??? or maybe know a site that has the
instructions ??

Thanxs in advance !

There is a very good article on this at Alison's GPL site, written by Steve
Blankenship. From her main page, click on Help/Controllers/Reader Feedback,
and scroll down the page to Steve's article. It's really as simple as
unplugging the wires from the pots on the Logitech pedals and connecting
them to the pots on the CH pedals. Check the article first though<g>

I performed this minor surgery a few months ago and it helped my driving a
great deal.

I also performed this mod and consider it to be one of the best (I've tried
several) combos for the $.

Hey Jude, You need to locate pins #9, 11 & 13. Pin #9 is the voltage
output to the center post of both pots. Pin#11 is the resistance value
of the pot on Axis X2(Axis #3) and pin#13 is the resistance value of the
pot on Axis Y2 (Axis #4). You can use a extension cable and hack into
the cable so you can plug the wheel into the pedal base and then from
there to the gameport. I also have serviceable DB15 male and female
connectors that will allow you to make your own cable.
Here are two sites that will help.

Let me know if I can help.  DBH

I agree about the pedals - they don't hve the feel or the throw of my old T2
pedals.  Does anyone know how to wire T2 pedals to the Logitech Formula
Wheel?

Formula Logitech Pedal ReWIRiNG ???

I have rewired my LWFF to use my Nascar Pro Pedals.  I simply opened up the
Logitech pedals, noted which wires went where, and removed the wiring from
inside the pedals.
Next, I opened up the TM pedals, made notes of the wiring, and removed it.
(Not very easy, you have to unsolder the wires.  I would recommend buying a
new set of pots, so that the old ones can be left intact with the TM wiring,
allowing you to easily go back).
Now connect the wiring from the LWFF to the TM pedals.  It is necessary to
make some small extensions for the wiring from parts available at any
electronics store, such as radio shack.  Then cut a small notch in the cover
on the left side of your pedals to allow the power connector to fit into the
notch.  If you are careful, you can place this where the connector will be
snug and cannot come loose.  The only problem I had was remembering to
reverse the wires on the pots for the throttle from the LWFF to the TM.
This is necessary due to reverse rotation for that pot between the 2
systems.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures to post, but this really was easy.  Just
make sure you write down which cables go where on each as you take them
apart.

Hope this helps,

Glen Pittman
