GPL 1.1 Honda/Cooper question

GPL 1.1 Honda/Cooper question

by Scott B. Huste » Sat, 10 Jul 1999 04:00:00

I noticed that the Honda/Cooper patch I got from the Pits was a new
GPL.EXE.  So I obviously had to replace it to patch up to 1.1

My question is,  is there a way to return to the Honda/Cooper??   The
symbols are still showing Honda/Cooper though the wording is back to the
old.

Thanks,
Scott

This problem also occurs with GPLSeason, the graphics change but the names
remain as Coventry and Murasama as do the car names.

not if you tell GPLSEason to patch the teams, otherwise it doesn't bother
writing them

Download this:
http://gpl.dlh.net/files/editors/GPLseas.ZIP
Install it.

Run it, set GPL directory.

Select FILE, then LOAD FROM GPL.

When it's finished, click the Teams tab, rename Cov and Mur to Coo and Hon
etc etc, then click CONTROL tab, click the teams box.
then select file - Patch GPL... Job done.

I was doing, GPLSeason no longer works with UK GPL 1.1

It won't even load details from GPL.EXE correctly now, did the Brabham Repco
really have 753 valves in its V8 engine.

Also got the 753 valves on the US version.  Nigel Patterson had a
solution on another thread that also worked for me:

"To use GPLSeason with GPL 1.1 do the following -

a) Install the GPL 1.1 patch

b) Start GPLSeason

c) Choose Options... from the File menu

d) Blank out the GPL Directory field and choose OK

A message saying 'Couldn't open gpl.exe' will appear - choose OK

e) Choose Options.. from the File menu again

f) Enter your GPL directory into the GPL Directory fielld and choose
OK

The above procedure causes GPLSeason to re-search gpl.exe for the
information it needs to change."

Worked beautifully for him and me.  Note also that GPLSeason will
erase Andrew Olley's***pits, so you have to reinstall them after
patching if you just let GPLSeason patch everything that comes
with KOTR's set.

Don't give me any credit- I'm just spreading the word.

I may have spoken a bit soon- single player works fine, but GPL exits
as soon as I hit the green button after selecting multiplayer.  Not
Not sure if this is the culprit or not- anyone else?
