Daytona USA???

I justed downloaded a demo of Daytona USA for Windows95 from the net,
and they said that it was also available for the Nintendo 64! I haven't
seen it or even been able to find anyone locally that knows anything
about it. All they say is "oh you mean that Sega game?".  I love that
game, does any one know if it's available yet for the N64?

Anxiously,
Chris Sanborn

Mate, I think someone is pulling your chain.  Daytona in Win 95 is
terrible, I was so disapointed with the demo, although the full product is
supposed to be much better.

It is not available for the N64 and will not be made available. Sega
and Nintendo don't usually make games for each others systems. There
are no good racing "SIMS" for the N64, however, WaveRace 64 and Mario
Kart 64 are both great racing "GAMES".

Are you implying that Daytona is a simulation of Nascar racing?
  Daytona is as

much a racing "game" as WaveRace, MarioKart, JetMoto, or any other
arcade racer out there. This is no true simulation quality to
  Daytona at all.

I guess they forgot to take out the Swiss Alps out of the beackground
of Daytona USA.  I mean, I've been there twice and there ain't no
mountains in FLA.

Daytona USA for the pc could have been a good arcade racer if they would
have patched the joystick and menu option problems with it (namely better
support for the thrustmaster wheels, and saving your option settings fully
upon exit). When it was initially released, I spoke with a representative
of sega (through e-mail) who promised thet these bugs and others would be
fixed with a patch to be released... it (the patch) was ever made.  I
continued to contact tech support through e-mail, and the last word (a
month and a half ago) was that now the patch release had been postponed
indefinitely.  Save your money, and buy Grand Prix II, or Nascar
II/Indycar II or something along those lines, at least those have some
measure of support, even if only from the user base, Daytona USA doesn't
even have that!
