I know that everyone saw the Daytona track on ESPN, but I was actually at the exhibit
on opening day, July 5th. I couldn't believe it, there were people racing the track!
Nascar Racing was set up on about 8 monitors. You first sit at the screen and proceed
to dial in your car with an interactive TOUCH SCREEN! Adjusting spoilers and so forth
is followed by a few laps of qualifing. No wheel to wheel racing however :( The really
cool part is that the best lap times are displayed overhead in a red scoreboard display!
The track is not a hack of Dega! It is quite complete and extremely detailed!
It was amazing...just like the rest of the exhibits. The game was NASCAR RACING, I'm
sure of that. The interface could have been from NASCAR 2, not really sure. Just thought
I would update everyone on my Daytona experience. ( By the way, Nascar Online has a
direct terminal at the Daytona USA exhibit. I saw people there talking directly to
others on-line, check it out )
