USA Track doesn't look like DAYTONA (open forum)

I've raced on the USA Track (by Alex) and it resembles TALLADEGA much
more than DAYTONA (for obvious reasons. If we could only add a lake, and
a better rendition of the grandsstand however...

Nevertheless I applaud Alex on an excellent track modification.

If Daytona does become available for Nascar 2, then we will have 3
superspeedways thanks to Alex!

What are others' impressions of his track?

I had to make sure that it was my rendition of Daytona, I have been trying
to add a lake, but cannot get it done.  The main stand issue is the
greatest on my mind. I tried to edit the original Dega stands to remove
the large tower in the middle, and also take out the part of the stands
where it extends above the rest.  Never the less due to my limited
knowledge of the 3do files I could not do this.  I spent most of my time
on the Back straight and feel that this most resembles the actual track,
but still far enough away that I hope not to get sued, I do not see why I
would.  I searched all of the tracks for stands to use, but could not find
one to use, I feel that this was the best I could do.  Thank you for your
opinions, I respect them much more when they are in the form that yours
were in.  You had something to say, but did not try to insult me.  Also by
the way Tim, no news from anyone bringing a suit upon me yet.

Would you like me to change the intro screen and starterbox, call it the
Busch 500 or something, I am already working on it, it would be a small
patch

That is a good Idea, but it cannot be done.  There is a limit to what can
be put where and how mony of what can be put where.  For example there is
like a socket that something needs to be put into.  If I were to move it
too far you could not see it.  Like look at talladega.  There are only two
things in the infield on the back side, that is all I can have due to
limitationa, I tried to add more scenery, but it just crashes.  Also if I
was to put one of the rv's in the pit area you could not see it from the
pits.  You could only see it across the infield from the back straight.
It is weird, but it is all I can do.

I feel that the lake is a waste of time.  I'm not an expert on what Daytona looks like.  I know there
is a lake there, but can you see it from the track at 195 mph?  The only change I might have made if I had been
looking over your shoulder as you programmed (something I can't do) is make more RVs and maybe other fans in
the infield.  Most tracks have an infield full of people anyway.  If anyone asks where the lake is, tell them
it's behind all the fans.

Exactly.... I don't want the lake unless there's a chance I can drive
into it.   Don't get hung up (to the original poster) on too much eye
candy, I've seen great looking games that were boring to play and
they're not as much fun as a great playing game with marginal
graphics.  Looks like Nascar 2 will address both....then all this
Nascar 1 talk will be moot.
