Daytona USA?

Daytona USA?

I've heard that SEGA has teamed up with Martin Marietta's flight
simulator image generator division (formerly part of GE) to produce
an arcade game named Daytona USA.

Since Chapel Hill is a desert as far as good arcades go, I was
wondering what impressions there are from people who have seen this
game.  What does it offer that's new in terms of graphic performance?

Finally, does anyone here in the NC Triangle know where such a game
might be found?

p.s.  I'm still studying high-performance image generator machines.
Anyone who knows about the architectures of commercial or even
experimental machines, please drop me a line!  Thanks!

The game is magnificent!! Graphically, it gives Ridge Racer a big run for
its money. Just like RR, you can read the sponsors on the other
cars, thanks to the texture mapped graphics.
The sound is also fantastic!! Instead of getting a puny engine note
like in RR, you get a real big detroit iron V8 howling its head
off!!
If there is any one problem with the game, it is that it cost $4A to play
the thing, where RR takes $2.

be found?

Check out a really large amu***t arcade!

Sounds like a fantastic field to be studying!!
