Good Racing sims?

Good Racing sims?

Hi Danked,

Grand Prix Legends (GPL) is the *BEST* GPL, IMO (and alot of other peoples
in here).   It isnt exactly fun to drive, AT FIRST, but once you start to
get the hang of it, it is an awesome experience to race online with 19 other
drivers, a couple of metres apart.  It will take you weeks / months to start
to get the hang of it, but perservere and you will have the best racing
experience on the PC.

F1 2001 is also very good, but lacks decent online support and Force
Feedback (as yet).

Rally Trophy is quite fun too.

Sports Car GT is good fun and there are 100's of new cars and tracks out
there to make it whatever game you like.

Hope this helps a bit :)

All the best,
Ash

GPL, Mercedes Benz Truck Racing, F1 2001, Superbike 2001.  Can't go wrong
with any of those :)

Out of those MBTR would be the one with the highest instant 'fun' factor.
GPL has the medium and long term fun and the best online play.  All depends
what you're looking for.

Nascar 4 is the best in my opinion. Better out of the box experience without
adding 2 zillion updates and patches.
Next would be Grand Prix Legends it would be first on my list but well its
getting a little long in the tooth thus the need for patches and graphical
updates. The addons are endless with GPL but better be prepared to spend
every
waking hour to practice before you actually will have fun with it. I prefer
the door to door action of N4 and hot lap GPL as I have a life, wife and
Harley that needs my attention. :).

I think Porsche Unleashed is tough to beat for the combination of
being fun to drive and just realistic enough to be convincing.
If you're not strictly looking for car sims, another game that strikes
that balance perfectly is Motocross Madness 2.
Online play is a blast, too.

If it's gotta be a car, I'd suggest Colin McRae Rally 2.

Yep, I gotta agree with Porsche Unleashed, pretty decent sim / game IMO.  I
dont really like CMR2, but I think thats just personal preference, other
people really love it.

All the best,
Ash

If only there was a track editor for NFS:PU.... that would just be great.

I will go with that, but I want to see more Porsches, some of the 70's
racing card would be nice (OK, I admit, I want to drive the 917, long
time fastest racing car in the world!)

It would be fantastic if the PU engine was used for another sim with different
cars... We need more tracks!
