I know, and I would have stayed for one of the larger ovals, or even
Martinsville for example. But Bristol being so very small, and me having the
tendency to lean well into the corners here on my chair, I just felt that
I'd be walking around with my head tilted left for the next two days ;-)

Nonetheless, I didn't skip the race lightheartedly. I would have wanted to
be there, but just thought this is too long for me.

At lap 46, me and Mitch bumped and it put me into the wall.My motor gave
up and the crew chief told me they couldn't fix it.

If we would have had more drivers, I woudla stuck around for the WG
race.

Here's my take on attendance.  We would get more drivers if we had a
"cast in stone" start time.  Sundays (unless either very early or very
late) are kind of inconvenient for Americans because the real Nascar
race is on in the middle of the day. I personally don't have a problem
with "very early", because I'm up well before the sun is everyday.

In any case, it would be a fairly simple matter for Eldred to setup
DeMONS to handle the chores and then publish a schedule, and that's what
it sounds like we need - a semi-reliable schedule of events so that
people can schedule their lives around it. :)

Hi John,

maybe we should indeed create a RAS online racing interest groups or
something like that.

What I've seen yesterday did look quite good - a lot of good and mature
driving from the NG's regulars, and the one or two bad examples, well, we
can tell them what we want and leave it up to them to learn or leave.

I'd be interested. Saturdays would be fine for me, Sundays too.

That would be ok by me. I've personally been using two Yahoo groups for
online leagues for I think three years, and my experience with them is quite
good. If you start that group, don't put the email in that's in my NG
messages - it's a real address, but everything sent there gets deleted
automatically.

I can't exactly remember when that happened John but I remember seeing you
in my mirror out of shape as I passed you low but we were clear of each
other when it happened from my view anyway, and I couldnt get much lower on
the track.  I didn't feel anything on my side so I assumed it was something
else that caused you problems.  I'd seen you mention it a couple times now
so your perspective of what happened must be quite diff than mine.  I do
apologize if I got to close so early or had any part in the wreck that ended
your day.  I would have yesterday had I known.  The last thing I wanted to
do was take anyone out of an already small race.  I almost wish it was
reversed cause by the time we got done I was beat.  I had no incident points
deducted in the race, shouldn't I if we were involved in something?

Thanks for admitting that, Dave and Eldred - I thought it was just me
that was slow there.  For months I haven't been able to get below 1:22.
Never could in N4 either.  I finally managed a couple of 1:19's
yesterday, but I'm not entirely sure what I did differently.  Plus that
was with my own setup, I can't handle the fast setup at all.

I was following John S when it happened. If It was GPL I would say it was a
warp. Personally I think that's what it was. For a fraction of a second you
two were close. I think the "collision detection" took over then.
Surprisingly, when I T-boned JS, I got no damage at all.

"Richard "ZZ" Busch"  I'd seen you mention it a couple times now

One thing we've found over the years with online racing,  two people
involved in the same incident will have replays that show two different
things.  i.e. one will show contact and the other no contact.  So perhaps
warp brought you two together.

I think it was a warp bump.  The sim does that a lot (collision
detection code kicked in a little early).

I would have stuck around, but somebody rammed me two laps after the
first re-start. (Around lap 32) As I was pretty close to the car in
front of me, I thought that was pretty boneheaded of the car who rammed
me. Since it was still so early in the race to be hard charging like
that, I left the race after that incident.

These races are still a blast for me, so I intend to show up again. I
think I'll change my name to Biffle and go huntin' for a certain
someone, just like the real racers do ;-) <--please notice the grin

See ya' in a couple of weeks. I won't be there this coming weekend, so
please, please, please....don't run Pocono or Phoenix!!! If you do, I
won't ever show up at anymore races and you'll lose a backmarker, so
there ;-)
