new pots or .... USB to Gameport

Hi Guys

Does anybody of you use a USB to Gameport converter ???
I don't know if there are any yet.
I have read sometime ago on the net that they were working on such a thing.
This could solve the problem of bad gameports.
The use of good quality pots still wil be important.
( I like to use high quality pots in my home build race controller )
Or maybe there is a way to feed the info from the steering wheel ( optical )
directly into the USB port.( no pots required )

If anybody of you knows something about these subjects please reply !!!!
( maybe prices and brand name USB to gameport )

Thanks

Glenn

I was looking at some rotary Hall effect position sensors that are being
used to replace pots in many applications. There is no contact, so there is
no mechanical wear, except possibly form shaft rotation. They need some
simple circuitry to convert their output to something usable, but it doesn't
look too hard. I was considering using something like this for a home made
wheel system.

The USB to gameport converter sounds interesting...
