N4 Multiplayer problem

by Race15 » Sun, 11 Feb 2001 16:02:51

When in multiplayer I cannot join a race.  Always gives me the "timed out"
message.  I am being told that I have a "dual address" problem.  In the
multiplayer configure area, I do have two "tcp/ip" addresses to choose from.
If this IS the problem, how do I affect a change?
Please be gentle with me.  If I have to change something, please tell me where
to go to change it.  Otherwise I wont have a clue.
Thanks
Mike

I'm using a Linksys NIC with a Zyxel ADSL router to connect to
Mindspring DSL. I switched from Enternet PPPoE to RAS PPPoE and
removed the "TCP/IP -> Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter" entry
from the Network configuration window. Solved all my problems. This is
what my Network config window looks like now:

Client for Microsoft Networks

Dial-Up Adapter

Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter

NDISWAN -> PPP over Ethernet Miniport

PPP over Ethernet Miniport -> PPP over Ethernet Protocol

PPP over Ethernet Protocol -> Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet Adapter

TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter

You can get RAS PPPoE here: http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~normanb/

Hope this helps someone out there get into multiplayer games.
