I have just rebuilt my system from win98 to win98se (I have to stay there
because of my gameport MSFF).

I have a soltek SL-75KAV mobo with VIA APOLLO KT133A + VT82C686B chipsets.

Unfortunately, I think I'm having problems with the latest audio driver
(V5.50a). Does anyone have, or know of a place where I can get the older
drivers, so I can see if that's the problem?

Since the rebuild, the sound in GPL's broken. With hardware acceleration
turned off in DirectX it's very steppy, and whatever level it's on at, after
a while (usually on the first lap) the sound dies to a low grumble.

I have been here, but they only have the latest V5.50a driver. I need to get
hold of the older ones to try them.

I have tried every possible setting, and the results are described above.
Either steppy with none, or dying to a low grumble with anything else.

Just had a look at my little cache of drivers & utils and I've got v5.0,
hopefully of the right type for your mobo. It's a about 3Mb, if you PM
me (watch out for the typo) I'll mail it to you so you can try it. I
might have other versions on various mobo driver CDs too.

Alternatively try googling for it, there are loads of driver websites &
forums about.
