GPL and STB 4400 black screen help

I have the STB 4400 Velocity TNT card.  I am running Winders 98 and Direct X
6.1.  I have the latest drivers off of the STB site.  When I run GPL with
the openGL patch my screen is black except on some of the options to click.
If I memorize the steps and where to click.. I can get into the race and
everything is great.   Unfortunately, on multiplayer I cannot memorize and
get all the clicks right.. grr..

Does any one have any ideas why my screen is black??

I used to see that on occasion with some older TNT drivers.

Recall that STB was bought by 3dfx, and no longer updates their TNT
card's drivers.  So the latest STB drivers are pretty old.  Try the
Nvidia 2.08 reference drivers instead.
