Delima: need help with N99 and STB 4400 AGP

by RWF0 » Mon, 28 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Santa couldn't find a Canopus Pure 3d II in time so opted for the STB 4400
AGPx2 with 16 meg ram.  I am no video card expert by any stretch and am at my
wits end.  Will the STB 4400 run N99 in any 3d type mode?  Do I need to install
special drivers or lines in my auto exec?  I have tried everything I know
(which isn't much).  I thought I had read on the group where other's are using
this card successfully.  If not I'll take it back to the store and get a
straight 3dfx card and reinstall my original STB AGP Velocity128.  Please help
me understand this delima.  all the standards and ports are mind boggleing to
me...glide, open gl, 3dfx, rendition, TNT, voodoo2...my head hurts...please
help or offer suggestions.

Thankyou,
Roger

NR1999 will not use the 3D on a TNT card, since there is no Direct3D or
OpenGL involved. Only Rendition and 3Dfx cards are supported.
