GP2 - Sound Problem

GP2 - Sound Problem

by Nicola Lawso » Tue, 04 Aug 1998 04:00:00

I recently reinstalled GP2 to my PC (233MHz PII running Win 95.) My problem
is that the setup for the sound system continually dies on me! Doesn't
matter if I run it under Win95 or DOS (either clean boot or restart in DOS
mode.) Every setting, even Auto, locks up the machine and I have to reboot.

I must add that I am using an SB16, and that I previously had the software
running on this machine -  with sound.

I am assuming that I simply have to edit "F1system.dat", but have no ideas
how to do so.

Any ideas anyone? It's a great game, but a real pain if there is no sound!

Make sure your BLASTER environment variable is set correctly
such that it matches the SB16.

You can try setting the configuration manually and do not test it.

Jason.
